Simplicity at the Oscars the best and the worst

Stars at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards donned the best in designer gowns to celebrate the evening. All in all, simplicity, femininity(柔美), and luminosity闪亮)were the key must-haves for this year's best dressed.
This year's fashion theme was fresh like spring. Celebrities flaunted (展示)light colors, soft shapes, and bare skin. Celebrities like Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway and others wore minimal jewelry.
Celine Dion made looking simple, simply gorgeous when she wore Armani Privé long sleeve pearl toned gown.
Gwyneth Paltrow pulled off (成功完成(困难的事))a very dainty(精美的) and minimalistic (简约的)look, wearing a light metallic Calvin Klein gown with her hair sleek and chic as usual.
The soft pink Marchesa gown worn by Halle Berry was probably one of the most appealing to the eye with its soft fringes, subtle jewels and perfect contour along the actress's feminine curves.
Another sexy but subtly style was the draping(有垂坠感的) gown, turning every woman wearing this feminine style into a Greek goddess.
Star of the film Black Swan, Mila Kunis' lilac colored Elie Saab dress oozed(充满,洋溢) youth while her smoldering makeup(烟熏装) gave her look just enough of an edge.
Awards host Anne Hathaway did not need to stand center stage for all eyes to notice what a classic beauty she is.
Wearing an elegant Givenchy dress, a jeweled bracelet, and of course red lips, Hathaway stole hearts.
Among Kunis and Hathaway, Cate Blanchett's colorful beaded Givenchy gown made Blanchett look as much like royalty as she did playing Queen Elizabeth.
These actresses knew how to tap into their inner Aphrodite's but others never got the memo to keep their attire(装扮) fresh and breezy(恬静的).
Two stars in particular attempted to look divine on Oscar night but wound up looking disastrous.
Sharon Stone's strict black Christian Dior gown was anything but spring-time-chic and in fact was rather frightening.
As was Helena Bonham Carter's Gothic black gown designed by Alice In Wonderland costume designer Colleen Atwood.
Stone and Bonham's looks were far too over-the-top(过火,过犹不及). The bold colors, clunky (沉闷的)dresses and over-processed hair simply did not match what the event called for.
This look may have worked for these two famous vixens in years prior but the Oscars this year was the event for coy and light-hearted fashion.
The makeup this year was straight out of old Hollywood. Think 1920s' inspired bright lips, luminous fair skin, and little fuss over eye makeup.
The celebrities had proven that their natural beauty pushed through the gowns they wore.
In all, light colors, subtle jewelry(精致的首饰) and fresh makeup(清新的妆容) served as this years "it"(最时尚的) look.
